Michael was an MBRS-RISE master's student at Cal Poly Pomona who did an internship in the Shapiro lab in the summer of 2019. As a research master's student, he had previous experience working in a molecular biology lab and made strong contributions to our lab's research, culminating in authorship on a published manuscript in 2022.

Michael earned his master's degree in 2020 and is currently a microbiologist at Medtronic. - 2022
